Because I began my Bachelor of Education in 2021, I have only had direct experience with the new and current BC curriculum. That being said, I am ecstatic to be able to work within the framework of this new, progressive curriculum as it aligns very well with my own values. This curriculum aims to prioritize to develop students’ curricular competencies such as communication and social responsibility over specific content and rote memorization. I have always believed that schools should prioritize giving students the tools to engage in critical and creative thinking, and this curriculum aims to do just that. Because of this, I am so happy to be going into the education system through a time of growth and I look forward to working more with the BC curriculum!
